IF wishes were horses, riders would flock from all around to ride at a centre in Cardinia Shire.
Cr Helen Ward is no doubt keeping fingers crossed she will soon stumble across a genie bearing a lamp.
Cr Ward is a keen advocate for a multipurpose equine complex to be built in the area to service the needs of the industry and horse enthusiasts in the south east region.
The Bunyip ward representative asked at council’s meeting last Monday about the feasibility of such a facility being built in Cardinia.
She was told by council manager of community wellbeing Fiona Hodges that while a commitment could not be given, shire officers were certainly interested in further discussion of the concept.
Cr Ward said the South East Victoria Equine Network met once a month and was keen to help facilitate the establishment of a complex that would be accessible and available to all equine enthusiasts.
An enthusiastic horsewoman, Cr Ward said she had a personal interest in seeing that happen in Cardinia Shire.
Fingers crossed for horse centre
