NAR NAR Goon defeated Lang Lang in the last game of the year to win the EDFL Club Championship award.
The first half was a scrappy affair in which only six goals were kicked between the two teams, the Goon having a sevenpoint halftime lead. With captain Scott Murphy and Clint Sheedy leading the way up forward, the Goon kicked six goals to three in their first winning third possessions and driving the ball forward on many occasions. The Goon kept going in the last quarter with seven more goals, thanks to hard running from Spencer Noonan and Blair Lidstone and won by 50 points.

Leigh Noonan, who is in bestandfairest form this season, got the Goon a good start by kicking the first goal of the game. Two more goals followed before a lapse in concentration allowed Lang Lang to kick three late goals and get with in two points at quartertime.
The Goon needed someone to stand up in the second quarter and captain Sam Wright kicked two goals in the first minute. Three more goals for the term and the Goon was leading by 35 points at the main break. Goals were hard to come by in the third quarter before Jay Hanks goaled after a great spoil by Ian Graham. In the last quarter Wright showed his class in front of goal, kicking three more to give himself five for the game and the Goon piled on eight goals to come home with an 89point victory.

UNDER 17
Lang Lang started well, kicking with a slight wind and scored the first goal.
Nar Nar Goon’s defence and onballers, led by and best and fairest Matt Wade and runnerup Phil Hicks led a sixgoal quarter for Nar Nar Goon against a capable Lang Lang.
Lang Lang defended stoutly and managed to hold Nar Nar Goon to three goals for the quarter. Lang Lang remained on one goal.
In the third quarter, kicking against the wind, Nar Nar Goon kicked three goals while Lang Lang kicked two.
Ruckman Vince Sanzaro worked hard and covered plenty of ground.
Nar Nar Goon finished the game with a threegoal last quarter and Lang Lang kicked one.

Lang Lang opened the game with fierce determination, kicking 4.0 in the first quarter to the Goon’s 1.1.7. The Goon came out in the second quarter with a much improved performance to kick 2.2 to Lang Lang’s one point.
Steve Marson and Lachie White played a key role in this turn around and were well supported by Brent Hughes, Patrick Gaynor and Jacob Sweeney.
The Goon came out in the third quarter with determination and put on a further six points to be leading at threequarter time.
In the final quarter the Goon kicked two goals to ensure a great victory and remain undefeated for the season.
The player vote count was held on Sunday, Brent Hughes winning the best and fairest from Josh Hodson and Brodie Howe.

The first quarter began with the Goon scoring two goals with the breeze to Lang Lang’s one.
The second and third quarters belonged to the Goon, which piled on a further four goals to no score.
In the final quarter a further three goals were added in this term to give the Goon a strong win going into the finals.
On Sunday was the bestandfairest vote count and Mitch Campbell polled 37 votes, one clear of Xavier Manson and Sam McPhee. Steve Pimm and Dom Sheeran each polled 34 votes.
