HAVE you got some great ideas that will help build our community? If so, Gembrook MP Tammy Lobato wants to hear about them.
Ms Lobato is urging community groups and councils to apply for new Community Building grants funding from the Bracks Government.
The $10 million, fouryear program is applicable to communities in rural areas, as well as councils such as City of Casey, the Shire of Cardinia and the Shire of Yarra Ranges.
“Communities with a population up to 5000, including housing estates and rural townships, are eligible to apply for these grants,” Ms Lobato said.
“It’s a chance for communities to work together, build skills and knowledge, develop a shared future, identify community projects, and carry them out.”
