It’s ace at Pakenham

IT was a week for holes in one at Pakenham Golf Club with two scoring magic aces – the first for 2006.
The first was on Wednesday last week when David Hoare holed out on the 140-metre second in the Wednesday morning competition and the second came on Saturday when Glen Easto canned his tee shot on the 142-metre 14th.
David got more points for his ace in the Stableford competition than he got for the whole of the back nine.
He said he played the back nine first and was going to pull out after the nine holes, but decided to keep going in the rain.
“I hit a great shot and it was on line all the way,” he said after the round.
So far David has had four holes in one.

Pakenham’s sixth pro-am will be held this Friday and the course will be closed from 10am this Thursday to enable the staff to finalise preparations for the big day.
Those who do not wish to play are welcome to come along free of charge and see some professional and other golfers competing.
