Kooweerup wins thriller

KOOWEERUP’S Egrade team fought out a thriller against Buln Buln on Saturday, winning by one goal.
A quick start by Kooweerup with a very high standard game and the score at the end of the quarter saw it up by one goal.
Shanae Ingram and Jade Williams both played well.
In the second quarter, some good defence and attack from the centre breaks saw Kooweerup get scoring options, but did not make the most off them.
Tania O’Connor and Mariah Bell did some good work around the court and Kooweerup increased its lead to four goals at the main break.
Kooweerup was quick out of the blocks again, but Buln Buln came back strongly in the last five minutes. Sam Belsham showed her accurate goaling sense during the quarter. It was an even start in the last quarter, with both defences pushing hard to get the turnovers, thus a lot of missed goals went begging.
Buln Buln outscored Kooweerup, but it hung on to win the game.
Scores: Kooweerup 27 d Buln Buln 26.

F GRADE

Buln Buln got the early break and Kooweerup had to be wary of the strong attack.
Towards the end of the quarter the Demons looked a little better with all girls giving 100 per cent.
Kooweerup started off the second quarter well with the attack of Cassie Belsham and Alexis Bell surging down court into attack.
At half time Kooweerup was down 922.
In the third quarter, the defence of Elle Cammarano and Jess Chapman worked hard and Marie Osborne and Sarah Cammarano got plenty of scoring opportunities.
Kooweerup outscored the Lyrebirds 96, but was still down by eight goals.
In the last quarter Kooweerup had its work cut out to stop the Buln Buln attack surging forward and good work by Lauren Harrison, Alexis Bell and Elle Cammarano prevented the score from getting too far.
Scores: Kooweerup 22 lost to Buln Buln 34.
