SWIMMERS are ready to make a splash at the new Cardinia LiFE in Pakenham, which opens on Sunday.
The $11 million centre has a pool, gym, exercise room, cafe and child centre.
The centre opens at 8 am for a day of free activities.
Cardinia LiFE manager Michelle Young said the opening had been eagerly awaited.
“We’ve already got almost 500 members,” Ms Young said.
“The staff are on board, it’s all looking fantastic and we are raring to go.
“It’s been a long journey but we are thrilled it is now ready to open.”
Cardinia Piranhas Swimming Club secretary Meryl Parkitny said the club’s membership had already doubled.
This was in anticipation of the pool opening, she said.
