FORMER Mornington coach and champion goalkicker Simon Goosey made a successful debut for Dromana on Saturday, booting 11 goals in the Tigers’ 93point win over Pearcedale.
The Panthers stayed with their opponents in a lowscoring opening half before Dromana piled on 11 goals to two after the long break, thanks largely to Goosey’s dominance.
The Pearcedale defence was powerless to stop ‘the Goose’ who will play around 10 matches for the Tigers this year, while combining his time with a forward coaching role for the Western Bulldogs.
Langwarrin remained unbeaten after downing Rye by 18 points in the match of the day, while Somerville had to battle hard to beat a gallant Sorrento by five points in the close match of the round.
