THE City of Casey is looking for sites of over 0.8 hectare that could hold a circus.
Casey mayor Neil Lucas said it was a continuous challenge for circuses to find suitable venues in metropolitan areas.
He said the council had one of the largest populations of children and young people in Australia and it was important that they and their families had the opportunity to easily visit a circus when it came to town.
The council is compiling a list of sites that a circus can occupy on an annual basis for periods of four weeks or more.
Cr Lucas said that proposed sites should have a weathered surface not prone to flooding.
Inquiries should be made to Casey planning liaison officer Gavin Wilson on 9705 5200.
