‘Stoked’ up for win

AN excellent nett 65 gave Pakenham Golf Club’s Stokjo Kresojevic the monthly medal and Agrade win on Saturday.
There were 145 players that teed off in the medal round with a CCR of 72.
Don Towan took out B grade with 68 on a countback and Richard Walker was the Cgrade winner, coming in with 68.

Peter Soxsmith, a visitor from The Dunes Golf Club, was the winner of the Dante’s Woodfired Pizza eighth hole and the Hungry Jack’s 14th went to David Wylie.
The Pakenham Pizza 16th hole saw Jeff Paterson the winner.
The winner of the B.M.R. Autos second shot on the sixth hole was Andrew Villinger with the Unique Bathroom Design and Renovation B grade going to Rob Sandiford.
The CTM Bricklaying second shot of the 17th went to Rod Cameron.
Jason McQualter was the winner of the B.M.R. Autos A grade longest drive with B grade going to Rob Nobelius.
The McIntyre Painting C grade longest drive went to Richard Walker.
The super competition saw Stojko Kresojevic the winner from Tasi Taito and Don Towan.

COMING EVENTS

This week is Par and the following weekend is Easter – when members can play in the Easter Cup if they want.
Stroke will be played on 22 April and the following week is Stableford that includes the twilight winners’ final.
Those who won a twilight competition are asked to play on this day to be eligible.
Newsletters and raffle books have been posted out.
Sold or unsold are asked to be returned as soon as possible.
The raffle will be drawn next Saturday, 8 April.
The men’s club championships, sponsored by Rawdon Hill Management and Constructions, will be played in May this year (not December) as in previous years.
The first round is on Saturday, 6 May.

MONDAY RESULTS
The morning competition was Stableford and Bill Toogood came in with 44 points to win from Eric Butcher and Anthony Wynen with 42 points.
Downtheline winners were Broni Jaremczuk 40, Denby Coggan 39, Les Jones 39, Jim Logan 38, Stuart Hare 38, Brian Doherty 37, Ron Miller 37 and Leo Cester 37.
Nearest the pin on the eighth hole went to Brian Hall and Heath Barclay was the winner on the 14th hole.

WEDNESDAY RESULTS

The morning field of 75 played in perfect conditions with Scott Milnes coming in with 41 to win on a countback from John Kingman.
Noel Bonne, Ron Horne, Tony Vallance and Stuart Hare all came in with 40 points, followed by Broni Jaremczuk, Glen Foote, Ian Shennan and David Robinson with 39.
Bill Toogood 38, Bob Morrison 38 and Keith Massey 37 completed the downtheline ball winners.
Don Moloney was the nearestthepin winner on the second hole and Scott Milnes took out the eighth.
The 14th went to Ian Mortimer.

SUNDAY RESULTS

Jenny Bennett won the Sunday morning competition coming in with 37 points.

TWILIGHT COMPETITION (29 MARCH)

Last Wednesday evening was the last Twilight round for the 200506 season.
The weather was perfect and many took advantage of having tea in the clubhouse at the completion of their round.
The raffle was the best of the year with several prizes being offered.
Jack Ramage won the meat tray and the fruit basket went to Bernie Gramc.
A bottle of wine was won by David Hoare and the other by George Single and the basket of toiletries was won by Joanne.
The winner of the social competition was Brett Harrop.

Kevin Sander was the winner on a countback with 22 points from Colin MacLean.
Grant McKay 22, Rob Morley 21, Michael Popof 21, Peter Blackwell 20, Graeme McQualter 20, Brian Bateup 20, Scott Phillips 20 and Ray Barnes 20 were the downtheline winners.
Nearest the pin on the second hole was Steve Kerley and Damien Rhyne won the second shot on the seventh.

Stuart Sparkes was the winner of the back nine with 22 points from Bob Morrison 21 on a countback.

Captain’s knockout
With good Autumn weather prevailing, the Pakenham ladies played the second round of the captain’s knockout on Thursday, 30 March.
Marg Andrews defeated Loretta Stewart 3/1 and Maria Warburton defeated Liz Garvey on the 19th hole.
Lyn Murray was the winner against Libby De Hey 6/5 and Marjorie Dean defeated Norma Robertson twoup.
Marg Andrew will play Maria Warburton and Lyn Murray comes up against Marjorie Dean.
The overflow girls played Par, with the winner coming from division two in Marg Turner with an excellent score of plusfour.
The divisionthree winner was Toni Owen with plustwo and the divisionone winner was Helen Aurish with plustwo.
Nearest the pin on the second hole was Shirley Tharle and the eighth went to Marg Turner.
Nola Kerslake took out the 14th.

The winner of the Saturday competition was Liz Garvey with 70 off a handicap of 38.
Down the lines went to Viki Maxwell 76 (off 34) and Maria Warburton with 79 (off 23).
The putting went to Loretta Stewart with 29 putts and the nearest Viki Maxwell won the pin (second shot) on the 16th.
Viki Maxwell had a birdie on the ninth and Liz Garvey a gobbler on the 18th.
This week sees a round of the Saturday Knockout with Liz Garvey v June McCardel and Viki Maxwell v Maria Warburton.
