CARDINIA Shire Council’s stance against a controversial development at Beaconsfield has been backed by the state planning tribunal.
Plans to build three twostorey units in Mahon Avenue went to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal after council refused to grant a permit for the application.
The council had said the proposal was an overdevelopment of the site and out of character with the surrounding area.
Tribunal senior member A. P. Liston supported that decision after a recent hearing.
