GEMBROOK MP Tammy Lobato said the abolition of the Zone 3 ticket area in the public transport system meant cheaper transport for residents.
Ms Lobato said the new zone applied from this week and would be a saving for people commuting from outer to inner suburbs.
“A daily ticket to the city now costs $9.70 a saving of $2.90.
“The savings are $7 on a weekly ticket, $34.20 for a monthly ticket while people who purchase yearly tickets will save $366 a year.
“This is a huge saving for a household and will also make the option of using public transport more attractive to those who use private motor vehicles.”
She said travel would also be cheaper to areas that were in different zones.
