BERWICK Youth girls’ football team finished the season on a high last Saturday, grabbing third place in the Footy Pak Cup with a comfortable victory over the Rosebud Stingrays.
Berwick was not threatened from the opening bounce and despite a lacklustre third quarter in which Rosebud scored two majors, the Wickers recorded a 27point victory.
The club congratulated best on ground Mariah Marshall and also Rachael Vriend for scoring her first goal in this competition.
This season has seen the club rise from wooden spooners to record an impressive 84 win loss ratio and next season looms as one of hope as the girls strive to build on this season’s success and take the next step.
Scores: Berwick 6.5.41 d Rosebud 2.2.14. Best: M. Marshall, R. Timmins, T. Moroney, A. Decker, A. Jessup.
