Bus runs for sport fans on open day

Jim Mynard
CASEY Council will provide guided bus tours for the Casey Fields open day on Saturday, 29 October.
Casey chief executive Mike Tyler said the open day would be a great chance for families to see the sport and recreation facilities available from early next year.
Mr Tyler said visitors could take a guided bus tour around the site to see the progress of pavilions, sports grounds and courts, walking trails and passive leisure areas ahead of the facility’s official opening in early 2006.
The open day will also feature activities presented by local and state sports clubs and associations.
“Casey Fields will be a fantastic place for families to spend time playing games, enjoying a picnic or simply relaxing in the passive recreational area, complete with wetland planting and walking paths around the lake system.”
Mr Tyler said the fields would be home to the CaseySouth Melbourne Cricket Club and VFL team Casey Scorpions.
“Many local sporting and recreation clubs including Cranbourne Cricket Club, Cranbourne Football and Netball Club, Devon Meadows Junior Football Club, the Bicycle Association of the South East, and the Berwick Human Powered Vehicle and Cycling Club.”
The open day will run from 11am to 3pm and access is by a free shuttle bus only, departing from Casey Indoor Leisure Complex.
