CALISTHENICS Victoria will hold a come and try day at the Masonic Hall, High Street, Berwick on Saturday 11 February.
Calisthenics Victoria, executive officer Wayne Jones said the day would introduce participants to a sport that was exciting and unique to Australia.
Mr Jones said at least 2000 children across Victoria would learn how to successfully combine their love of sports with their creative flair through callisthenics.
The clinics, from one to five days, would offer children the chance to have fun and learn more about the sport.
“As a combination of controlled exercises and gymnastics, singing, simplified ballet, marching, folk and modern dance, calisthenics combines the best aspects of sport and art,” Mr Jones said.
Mr Jones said come and try days were being offered for free at 60 venues across Victoria until the end of February.
“This is an opportunity for young people to try a sport which offers something for everybody and enjoy the friendly and welcoming environment at their local club,” Mr Jones said.
