ST MICHAEL’S School, Berwick, held a remembrance service at 11am on Friday to commemorate servicemen and women who lost their lives in wars.
The service was led by the school representatives.
The origin of Remembrance Day was recalled, together with the explanation of the wearing of poppies. A special wreath laying service took place with individual children placed a wreath at the school’s remembrance stone. A minute’s silence was held to pray for the dead as well as praying for peace in the world.
The ceremony ended with all children singing the national anthem.
