A COMMONWEALTH Games carnival will be held at the Old Cheese Factory, Berwick on Saturday 4 March.
The carnival will be held between 10am and 5pm as part of the statewide leadup to the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. Entry is free.
The family festivities will include sporting demonstrations and participation, sporting and heritage sporting activities, international food, arts and craft and market stalls. Entertainment on the main stage will feature music for the family, kids’ performers and multicultural music and dance. A separate stage will feature upandcoming bands.
Narre Community Learning Centre has received funding to run “heritage games”, including a tugowar, gumboot throwing, quoits and much more.
The games will be run by people dressed in period costume and be a fun activity for kids.
The learning centre will also be running a Devonshire tea and will help with volunteers for the event.
