Fast results for Yabbies

PAKENHAM Upper-Toomuc had a tough day, conceding first-inning points to Beaconsfield, but turned the tables in C grade to grab quick points from Upper Beaconsfield.

A GRADE

Winning the toss and batting first against Beaconsfield, the Yabbies got a shaky start, losing opener John Miller with the score on five and partner Glenn Kilburn 10 runs later.
The middle order fought back into the match, Dean Blake (30) and Josh Bardwell (29) trying hard, but the tail was skittled and the innings ended on 117.
Pakenham Upper-Toomuc had Beaconsfield 2/10, Ben Keane (1/27) bowling well, but the ray of hope soon disappeared as Kerslake (43) and Miles (102 not out) propelled the Tigers past the total with ease.
Chris Buckland grabbed two wickets and a direct-hit runout.

C GRADE

At Upper Beaconsfield, the Yabbies dominated the Maroons, bowling out the hosts for 89.
Adrian Garvey’s 3/6 from four overs was a standout performance. Shannon Price also grabbed three wickets.
In the time remaining, Price blasted 96 to ensure first-innings points.

D GRADE

Pakenham Upper-Toomuc hosted Clyde at Syme Road and the visitors were struggling at 3/10.
A fine fourth-wicket partnership of 139 put the Cougars in the driving seat, but the Yabbies fought back strongly.
Frank Scartuchio (2/18) and Paul Ryan (2/19) got breakthroughs and Brett Maddock (3/51) and Adrian Grey (3/25) mopped up the tail.
Clyde finished all out for 170.

E GRADE

The Yabbies sent Gembrook in and, after an expensive start, Damien Garth took 3/14 from nine overs in another good display.
But Michael Wright stole the honours, taking 4/3 from 3.2 overs to wrap up proceedings for 75 at tea.
In reply, Pakenham Upper-Toomuc lost three quick wickets but sensible batting from 14-year-old Luke Gunton (30 not out) helped right the ship.
The Yabbies only required a further 10 for a win this week.

F GRADE

Batting first at Devon Meadows, the Yabbies made 7/110 in the 35 overs.
Michael Wake (13) and Chris Spicer (19 retired hurt) started well, Steve Impey (12) and Drew Clarke (15) kept the score moving.
The Panthers moved to 4/65 and looked a chance, but overs were running out and the last six wickets went for just 12 runs.
Bob Phillips (3/8), Chris McKinlay (3/14) and Trav Decker (3/23) performed well.

UNDER 16

Defending 163, the Yabbies fielded well to get Emerald Black all out for 89.
The wickets were shared among seven bowlers, Jake Abel taking 2/9.
Chris Smith was again outstanding, taking 1/6 from six overs.

UNDER 12 GOLD

The Golds were defending 99 and did well to bowl Beaconsfield out for 66.
Alex Nooy took 3/8, Elizabeth Bardwell 2/4, Kody Timmins 1/5 and Kim Bardwell 1/4.
Ryan Louch took five catches.

LADIES

Pakenham Upper-Toomuc hosts Kingston Heath this Sunday starting at 1.30pm.
