FORMER Baw Baw mayor and council chief executive Geoff Davey has been honoured for his services to local government in Warragul and district.
Mr Davey served two terms as mayor of Baw Baw Shire and has been a councillor since 1997.
He was CEO of the former Rural City of Warragul between 1990 and 1994 and served two years as shire secretary and 20 years as deputy shire secretary for the former Shire of Warragul between 1969 and 1990.
Mr Davey had a distinguished football career, both on and off the field, with Buln Buln Football Club and he also served at Ellinbank league level for several years.
