BERWICK and Beaconsfield secondary college students were able to present their views to the 2006 Make Poverty History Forum at Belgrave Heights Christian School on Wednesday, 4 October.
The World Vision project provides opportunity for students to voice their views on poverty at what is recognised as a world forum.
La Trobe MP Jason Wood said he was delighted that so many local students supported the forum.
He said in 2000, Prime Minister John Howard was one of 189 heads of state and governments at the United Nations to sign a unique agreement as part of the Millennium Declaration and the Millennium Development Goals.
“The unprecedented goals aim to halve poverty by 2015,” Mr Wood said.
