During the 1980s and 90s, Allan Aurisch was a capable and popular player with Beaconsfield.
The accurate spinner played in three A-grade premierships during his 13 seasons with the Tigers and he shared his memories and thoughts about the local game in a recent chat with Ian Ferguson.IF: What WGCA club did you represent?
AA: Beaconsfield.

IF: Who were the best players you played with?
AA: Mark Betheras, Glen Marinic and Derrick Brown.

IF: Who were the best opposition players?
AA: Glen Marinic (PUT), Greg Bethune (Lang Lang and Tooradin), and Tim Miller (Lang Lang and Catani).

IF: What were your best WGCA performances?
AA: Taking 7/46 against Pakenham, and scoring 61 in a last-wicket partnership of 98 with Geoff Bliss against Lang Lang.

IF: What are your favourite grounds?
AA: Beaconsfield and Pakenham Upper.
IF: What are some good features about West Gippsland cricket?
AA: The number of juniors coming through to A-grade ranks.

IF: What improvements are needed at the local level?
AA: None come to mind.
