A COCKATOO youth was assaulted and his bike stolen near Emerald Lake last week.
The 16yearold youth and his friend were walking their dirt bikes near the lake late last Thursday afternoon when a man approached them.
Police said the man threw a beer bottle at the victim’s friend but it missed him.
The victim was then chased by the offender, but his bike stalled.
Police said the teenager dropped his bike and continued running.
He was struck once to the face before running and hiding in some bushes.
Police said the man was abusive and possibly intoxicated.
When the youth thought it was safe, he came out and looked for his bike but could not find it.
He was left with some minor injuries.
