AFTER two years of intricate and painstaking work, the Cardinian Embroidery project is now ready for the community and will go on public display.
The embroidery, funded by Cardinia Shire Council and Vic Health, is a community artwork consisting of eight large panels which represent groups of neighbouring towns in the shire.
Two hundred and nineteen people embroidered 372 features of local significance to the towns, using a variety of hand and machine embroidery techniques.
A further 1856 people added their stitches to the town names at the bottom of each panel.
The Cardinian Embroidery will be open to the public from Sunday, 19 November at the Cardinia Cultural Centre.
