Bed rest is best

THE hard exercise and hectic lifestyle has taken its toll on Star Makeover winner Colleen Tancredi.
The mother of two has spent the last few days in bed after she came down with a virus eight weeks into the makeover.
Colleen said she had to go to hospital last Friday when her eyes started to weep but was told just to rest and take it easy.
While Colleen took one day off her scheduled training to rest, she was eager to get the bacteria out of her system and get back on the treadmill tomorrow (Thursday).
“It was a bit disappointing but there was no way I had the energy to train,” she said.
“It’s like the flu. I’m just feeling really drowsy. But because it’s viral I can’t take antibiotics. I just to have to get it out of my system.”
Colleen said the combination of a hectic schedule, suffering from asthma and long runs in the cold weather probably led to her getting sick.
But Colleen said she was looking forward to Mother’s Day on Sunday.
This year her husband David and children Anthony, 5, and Rose, 3, will be cooking something different for the traditional breakfast in bed.
Colleen said normally they took her out for a big breakfast of bacon and eggs.
But this year the kids will commandeer the kitchen to cook up a batch of cinnamon pancakes.
“I’m looking forward to it. They’re yummy but they are also healthy which is good,” Colleen said.
“It should be entertaining as well to see the kids cook and what they come up with.
“They really enjoy it.”
Colleen said the family would enjoy a quiet morning at home before visiting both her and David’s mothers in the afternoon.
