Bike stolen again

By Callan Date
PAKENHAM resident Dyllon vanden Elst couldn’t believe his bad luck when his motorcycle was stolen for the second time in two years late last month.
The 21yearold discovered his 1996 Kawasaki ZX6R Ninja motorcycle was missing from his driveway on Monday, 28 April.
His fears were confirmed when he noticed a tyre mark in the grass across the road from his home.
Mr vanden Elst’s motorcycle was back on the roads for only four months after it was stolen in late 2004 before it was stolen again .
“I spent about $2500 just to repair the bike and get it back on the road again when it got stolen for the first time, and then it happens again,” Mr vanden Elst said.
“At first I was annoyed that I couldn’t get to work that day, but a couple of hours later the real anger set in that my motorbike had been stolen for a second time.”
The motorcycle is his only mode of transport and now he can only get to work on a parttime basis.
“I start work out at Dandenong at 5am and I can now only get there three days a week when a friend from work is able to pick me up.”
He appealed to whoever has his motorcycle to return it.
“It is such a hassle not being able to get to work every day. If they just leave it in a car park or where someone will find it and notify the police, it would be great,” he said.
“The bike has primer on the left side of the tank where it has been damaged before and there is also a large patch of primer on the right side, which makes it quite distinctive.”
Anyone who has seen the Kawasaki motorcycle is asked to contact Pakenham police on 5941 1033.
