CASEY local laws officers will call on private homes and speak to people in parks and streets about their pets.
The activity is part of a blitz to identify unregistered animals.
People found in possession of unregistered dogs or cats more than three months old may receive an “on the spot” fine of $210 for each animal.
Casey customer service manager Rob Colling said that apart from it being a legal obligation, animal registration provided benefits such as a system that will more easily have lost pets returned.
