TOORADIN will have a boardwalk from the hotel to Main Street by the end of February.
The 130metre timber footbridge will provide waterside pedestrian access across Evans Inlet.
Casey chief executive Mike Tyler said the boardwalk would replace the pedestrian footpath along the South Gippsland Highway Bridge, providing a safer and more scenic walkway in the coastal hamlet.
Work will start almost immediately and be finished in February 2006.
Mr Tyler said the project stemmed from initial consultation and planning sessions between the council and community and followed an extensive design and approvals process.
A temporary site office and materials/equipment compound will be erected on the western side of Evans Inlet, adjacent to the hotel.
