POLICE are urging punters not to lose their heads during the spring racing carnival.
They will be keeping a close eye on local roads and watering holes as people make the most of the racing season.
Senior Sergeant Steve Matthews from Pakenham Police said people should have a good time at events such as next Thursday’s Oaks day race meeting at Pakenham but warned that police would be waiting for people who chose to drink and drive.
“We want people to enjoy themselves but we also urge them to do the right thing and not spoil the fun for others or themselves,” he said.
