DOUG Clark and Sylvia Martin combined well to win Drouin Golf Club’s mixed foursomes championships on Saturday.
There were 21 pairs in the field and Doug and Sylvia came in with 67 1/2 nett to win the main trophy.
Next in line were the Rod and Nerrida Hammond 70 and Gordon and Glenda Warren 71 1/2.
The scratch winners for the second year in a row were Wayne Robbins and Shirley Todd with 84.
There was also a Par overlflow event on Saturday, contested by 72 players with some high scores among them.
In A grade Phil Dignan (19) was the winner with +4 on a countback from Laurie Harris.
John Denholm, Graham Kennedy and Paul Lunt all had +3.
Noel Brereton (27) took out B grade with +4 from Trevor Jones +3, Alan Black +2, Graham Rolfe +2, George Connor +2 and Henk VanDeuren +2.
Nearest to pins – second: Eddie Stafford, fifth: Glenn Flowers, 19th: Shane Dwyer, 23rd (pro pin): John Denholm.
Mick Whitford had an eagle on the seventh. The CCR was 70 and balls down the line went to +2.

The Stableford competition attracted 71 players, enough for only two grades.
Bill Pyle (19) led the way in A grade with 39 points from runnerup Michael Santo 38, Tony Elliot 36 and Rex Amey 36.
In B grade Peter Browne (29) broke his handicap by a couple with 42 points and Con Norris won the runnerup voucher with 38 on a countback from Greg Patterson and Graeme Brenchley.
Nearest to pins – second: John Fielden, 19th: Rex Bastin, 23rd (pro pin): Steve Roberts.
Balls down the line went to 36 points and the CCR was 71.

The ninehole competition last Monday was tied by Rex Bastin and Con Norris with 20 points each.

Doug Clark won the senior ninehole competition for the men with 17 and Shirley Todd took out the ladies section, also with 17.
This Saturday at Drouin will be the November monthly medal.

Last Tuesday was gymkhana day.
President Bernace welcomed life member Edna Cropley, WG delegate Sheila McDowell and visitors from South Pines, BerwickMontuna, Beaconhills, Lang Lang, Garfield, Pakenham, Korumburra, Lakes Entrance, Churchill Park and Warragul.
There was a special welcome and thank you to Peter Collier from the Drouin Nursery who sponsors the event every year with beautiful potted flowers for the winners, as well as gardencare gifts for the visitors.
Agrade winners with a great score of 47 points were Audrey Smethurst and Irene Morgan. Runnersup with 45 points were Mary Clark and Jenny Browning (Beaconhills).
Bgrade winners were Kerryn Milner and Lorraine Kennedy (Warragul) with 44 points and the runnersup with 43 points on a countback were Margaret Mitcham and Maria Grant (Beaconhills).
The longest drive in A grade was Jenni Harris, B grade Shirley Roberts (Pakenham) and C grade went to Trudi Mumford (Trafalgar).
The straightest drive was Jan McLean (Warragul).
Nearest the pin on the fifth was Kerryn Milner and on the 19th was Von Kenny.
Down the line balls went to Peg Hocking and Dot Kidd (Trafalgar), Glenda Gorton and Louise Ford (BerwickMontuna), Joan Johnson and Melva Risstrom (Warragul) and Gail Richards and Carol Ronalds (BerwickMontuna) all with 43 points.
Shirley Todd won the Thursday ninehole competition with 17 points. Runnersup were Mildred Lyon, Heather Fitzpatrick and Ethel Manley all with 15 points.
Ladies day will be on Thursday and will be Stableford.
Next week’s game will be Par and again will be held on the Thursday, as the Victorian Seniors Championships will be held on the Tuesday.
