Grayson, Armitage strike for Cobras

MERINDA Park’s A Grade team posted a competitive score of 154 against Officer thanks to 48 from Brett Armitage and 35 from 13yearold Matthew Grayson.
They shared a 51run fifthwicket partnership which kept the score from being mediocre.
Jess Mathers struck late in the day to have Officer 2/24 at stumps, finishing with 2/10 from nine overs.

B GRADE

Playing Pakenham, the Cobras were bowled out for 134 with solid contributions from late order batsmen Tony Clarke (32 not out) and James LaughlinGlen (25).
Opening batsman Nick Reed was the only top order player to score well with 28.
At stumps Pakenham was 1/38 with Scott Kunziak picking up the wicket.

D GRADE

In a first versus third clash against Beaconsfield, the Cobras hit back after the previous week’s loss.
After losing the toss, the Cobras bowled well to have the visitors all out for 127 in the 48th over.
Captain John Proctor was the best of the bowlers with 3/47 from 17 overs.
Opening bowler Grant Pearson picked up 2/8 from nine overs and Pat Graham continued his good form with 2/17 from 11 overs.
At stumps the Cobras were 1/70 with Mark Elliott (40) and Jason Pongracic (6) at the crease.

E GRADE

Playing Emerald, Merinda Park had the host team at 8/231 by stumps.
Nathan Beaver returned to the wickettakers list with 3/45 from 18 overs, while Jace Field had 2/32 from 10 overs. Robert Strang, Paul Humphrey and Matthew Pongracic also took a wicket apiece.

F GRADE

The Cobras had a close win over Pakenham Upper after making 6/202, with Pakenham Upper 6/192 from its 35 overs.
Junior player Stuart Martin was in good form making 50 retired, with Andrew Hathaway scoring 23 and Craig Glassborow 22.
In the field, David Field was the outstanding bowler with 3/16 from six overs and Robert Clarke with 1/45 from six overs.
Two runs outs at vital times helped slow the run rate and give the Cobras victory.

Daniel Andreadis picked up 1/8 from his over.

UNDER 13

Sakila Tennakoon picked up 2/6 from three overs and Kiah LaughlinGlen 2/5 from two overs.
Dylan Cuthbertson, Luke Claringbould, Sanan Wimalagunaratna, Simon Spencer and Udesha Kalapuge all took a wicket each, with Ryan Little making a direct hit run out.
