A GRADE played a Howell movements at Berwick Bridge Club on Monday, 19 September.
Winners were Julie Day and Matthew Tiplady with Bob Parker and June BurnsParker second and George Ashby and Peter Ditchfield third.
B grade north/south winners were Joyce Kriss and Dianne Nicol. Second were Betty Nottage and George Shand with Richard Poole and Jim Dow third. East/west was won by Dorothy Scanlan and Joyce Garton. Second were Doreen Blight and Charles Blanks with Bob Anderson and Nancy Carter third.
A 10table Mitchell was played on Wednesday, 21 September. East/west was won by Sadie O’Brien and John Watson. Second were Gwyn Hughes and Win Roynon with May Tayles and Julie Day third.
North/south was won by Roger Littlehales and Arthur Perera. Second were Maxine and Brian Porter with Pat Beazley and Joan Quinn third.
Convincing winners of Thursday’s Howell were Shirley Collins and Heather Saunders with 77 per cent. Second place went to Gwyn Hughes and Joyce Kriss with 57 per cent. Annette Kirby and George Ashby were third with 52 per cent.
North/south winners of the eighttable Mitchell on Friday were Julie Day and Shirley Collins. Second were Pat Beazley and Ellwyn Miskin with Heather Saunders and Marion Anderson third.
East/west won by Dianne Nicol and Jean Carter. Second were Doreen Blight and Ian Heggart with Jean Francis and Henk Van der Ven third.
