A MINOR furore broke out in Kooweerup last week, after Footy Shorts dared to have a dig at the Kooweerup Netball Club’s enforced code of conduct for 2007.
Every senior Kooweerup netballer was issued with a 13point ‘Code of Conduct’ contract and a letter from club president Kim Ingram, stating that signing the document was compulsory and those who refused would not participate with the Demons this season.
Among the strict rules was a ban on drinking and smoking (point 11), together with a number of other points that, if applied literally, would appear to restrict players’ ability to relax and enjoy the social side of the sport and their club.
