FORMER Richmond forward Stephen Ryan snared 11 goals in Rye’s stunning 85point win over Somerville in MPNFL Nepean League on Saturday.
The Demons jumped to fourth on the ladder after the victory, while Ryan jumped to the top of the goalkicking table and is on target for a century with 52 majors at the halfway mark of the season.
Pearcedale continued its recent good form with a hardfought fourpoint result over Rosebud.
The Panthers best included Shane Urbans and Mathugh Vagg, while star Luke Damon booted four goals.
In other results from round nine, Dromana was not good enough for top side Langwarrin, going down by 39 points, while Frankston downed Crib Point by 41 points and a 10goal haul from David Lawson saw Sorrento record a 49point win over Tyabb.
In Peninsula League, Seaford continued its winning ways with a 42point victory over EdithvaleAspendale with Shane Maxwell and Callan Date among the Tigers best.
Karingal all but ended Mornington’s finals chances with a 20point result, led by former coach and Frankston Dolphin Bevan Molloy.
Mt Eliza had to battle to down a young Hastings by 13 points, while Pines had a 35point win over Frankston YCW in a minor upset.
Chelsea’s Joel Connelly took the goalkicking honours of the round with an eightgoal haul in the Seagulls’ 67point win against Bonbeach.
