New fire boss

BERWICK’S Brian Parry is the inaugural Victoria State Emergency Service Authority (SES) chairman.
Mr Parry has not long retired as president of the Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Services Board (MFESB) after 18 years in the position.
He commenced his new role with the SES in November.
He is actively involved with the Berwick Bowling Club, and the Berwick Anglican Church.
He is also a lay member of the Clinical Research Ethics Committee of Melbourne Health and Southern Health.
He lectures on Great Religions of the World for the University of the Third Age, and is a national lecturer for the Theosophical Society in Australia.
Brian was awarded the Member of the Order of Australia in 2004.
He was a director of the Royal Agricultural Society and was a member of the panel that reviewed emergency services after the 1983 Ash Wednesday fires.
