Odds on election runners

PAKENHAM residents can get the facts about the Cardinia Shire elections on Sunday straight from the horses’ mouths.
A community forum at Pakenham Racecourse will give candidates the opportunity of explaining what they stand for.
And residents will be able to ask questions and identify key issues in the community before the council elections on 26 November.
Pakenham business owner Rosa Santo said relations between council and the community often descended into a slanging match, and this was a good opportunity to start on a good note.
“The people we elect will have a profound effect on our everyday lives, yet the majority of us know very little about what goes on in council,” Ms Santo said.
The forum starts with a sausage sizzle for the hungry at noon on Sunday 13 November. Contact Rosa on 0410 61 32 32, or Joe on 0414 830 117.
