RUMOURS continue to mount that the US donut chain Krispy Kreme could be setting up in Narre Warren this year.
The company remained tightlipped about the news this week but a spokesperson said a “big announcement” would be made about the location of their first Victorian store within the next few weeks.
The spokesperson did not deny the rumours but refused to confirm a Narre Warren location.
He did concede that an opening would take place in March at the first Krispy Kreme Victorian store.
The chain already operates in NSW.
Last week in the metropolitan press the rumour also surfaced with reports the store would be located near Narre Warren’s Bunnings Warehouse.
Krispy Kreme was founded in 1937 and has stores in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Asia and Europe.
The company now produces more than three million donuts a day and more than 1.3 billion a year worldwide.
Among donut lovers, Krispy Kreme says, its original glazed, chocolateiced custard filled, cinnamon apple and glazed Devil’s Food donuts are the best in the world.
On the whole it’s a rumour
