A TRUCK and four cars collided on the busy Princes Highway through Pakenham last Thursday.
The crash happened near the Michael Street intersection.
Police and emergency services attended the incident with initial reports that people were trapped inside the vehicles.
Fortunately, rescue crews were not required, Pakenham Road Rescue Unit spokesman Stephen Monro said.
Highway traffic was even heavier than usual while the scene was cleared.
“One lane of traffic remained blocked for some time after the crash,” Mr Monro said.
Emergency service workers attended another incident on the KooweerupPakenham Road, near Greenhills Road, later on Thursday.
A car ran off the road with the driver suffering a sprained ankle.
