SAFEWAY Berwick will send 53 students to the Commonwealth Games.
Store manager Garry Trease has provided tickets for three schools in the Berwick area.
They are Berwick Secondary College, 19 tickets to the Rugby Sevens, St Margaret’s, 15 for athletics, and Narre warren North Primary School, 19 for weight lifting.
The schools were joint winners of Safeway Berwick’s Bringing Kids to the Games Competition.
Mr Trease said Narre Warren North Primary School won because of assistance to the Berwick Benevolent Society, Berwick secondary college for support for Surf Life Saving Australia, and St Margaret’s for helping to raise thousands of dollars for the Red Cross and Salvation Army appeals.
“We are delighted to be able to reward the students with a trip to the games. They have really demonstrated a true commitment to helping the community.
“We hope the students have a fantastic day and return with memories to last a lifetime.”
