St Patrick’s Parish

THE PARISH Annual General Meeting was held last Tuesday night. All parish groups presented reports. Summaries of these reports will be published in the Bulletin over the next few months. The newly elected members of the Pastoral Council are Nena Ward, Isla English, James Perera, Nancy Gallon and Bernie Laurie.
The retiring members were Marie Therese Tuck, Arda Tymensen, Peta Overbury, Helen Overbury and Maureen Cooke. All retiring members were thanked for their contribution to the work of the Pastoral Council.
The Bishop’s Family Foundation will distribute a record $104,404 to 15 projects, providing support for families across the Greater Gippsland area. This is almost double the amount given last year and brings the total amount distributed over the past five years to almost $300,000.
Recipients will receive amounts ranging from $25,000 to $804.
All money distributed by the foundation was from earnings on funds, which now stand at more than $1.65 million. Every dollar given to the Bishop’s Family Foundation since commencement, is still held in trust and it is only the interest which is distributed.
St Francis Xavier Annual Presentation night will be held on Tuesday, 29 November, at Robert Blackwood Hall, Monash University Clayton. All past students and parents are cordially invited to attend. For tickets please contact Mrs Rankins on 9707 3111. A thank you to all who made scones and slices for the recent “Community Fun Day”. With over 1000 people attending the afternoon tea, the effort was very much appreciated.

St Patrick’s Bingo is held every Wednesday at Pakenham Racecourse. Eyes down at 8pm.
