Parish AGM Report: Baptism Meetings.
There are currently three teams running the Baptism meetings (With room for new team members) Anita Hynes, Isla English and Sandie and Sean Downey.
Meetings are held each month and team members are on a roster. Meetings are run on a very informal manner rather than the booklet form. This is proving to be much more successful as people are able to speak more freely than in the set question form.
We had Rosemary from Narre Warren parish speak to us about the God Start program. We have decided to include this in our parish. God Start is a follow on from Baptism. On the first and second birthdays, babies baptised receive a birthday card, on the third an activity book and on the fourth a prayer book. This will operate with one team responsible for visiting the same child for the four-year term.
A list has been drawn up and we will be preparing cards etc. for distribution in January, February and March.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the family of Des O’Brien who passed away recently.
