BERWICK and District Folk Club (BADFOLK) will feature Melbourne performers Bill Dettmer and Christina Green. Bill is a former director of the Frankston Guitar Festival, radio announcer, venue operator and singer songwriter.
Guitarist Tommy Emanuels’ manager Ron Leigh said the world was full of guitarists, singers, poets and raconteurs but rarely did he come across an artist who could truly claim to be just that.
He said to just listen to a CD or tape by Bill Dettmer meant you only got part of the picture.
“Whether it is tragic or funny, an every day occurrence or something really special, Bill has the gift of recreating the moment and sharing it with his audience.
“Everyone should experience a night with Bill Dettmer.”
Christina is an accomplished singersongwriter, multiinstrumentalist and performer who has lived and worked in both Australia and the UK.
Christina’s songs combine lyric excellence and breadth in both musical style and subject matter. She writes with an observant and compassionate approach about people everywhere dealing with issues such as the effects of globalisation, environment damage and the struggle for freedom, political and economic stability.
BADFOLK meets at the Old Cheese Factory, Homestead Road, Berwick, and the doors open at 7.30pm.
