DAVID Boon has been the toast of cricket lovers this summer and one Pakenham fan wants to take the adulation a step further.
Chris Miller believes ‘Boonie’, former champion Test player and now enjoying cult status thanks to the runaway success of a certain beer promotion, should be the next Prime Minister.
Chris, 14, put a sign up outside his Simon Drive home calling for the Tasmanian batsman to get the top job. It has been a talking point for residents and prompted many laughs from passersby.
A keen cricket fan, Chris said Boon would be a much better PM than John Howard. He is already a much better batsman.
“There’d be a public holiday every time a cricket match is on,” he said.
