AN excellent nett 69 gave Andrew Wraight the monthly medal at Pakenham Golf Club on Saturday.
A Grade winner was Gary Westwick with nett 70 with the B Grade winner being Doug Law with nett 73.
Downtheline balls were won by T. Fossey and R. Sandiford both with nett 71, J. Gillespie nett 72, S. Milnes 74, B. Bateup, R. Curtis, M. Craig and M. Boyd with 75, R. Hladky, D. Towan, G. Mack, M. Spurway, S. Chapman, D. Jack, and R. Cameron all with 76, J. Piggot, W. Caffyn, A. Peluso, C. Pain, M. O’Hare, A. Colvin and S. Gilbert with 77.
The scratch winner for the day was G. Westwick with 75 and the Super Comp was won by A. Wraight. Second was G. Westwick and third was T. Fossey.
Nearest the pin on the golf shop second hole was R. Barnes.
Pakenham Subway fifth hole went to G. McKay, Hungry Jack’s 14th hole was won by M. Majstorovic.
Pakenham Pizza 16th hole went to N. Bonne, the BMR Autos second shot on the sixth was won by N. Mani and the Unique Bathroom Design & Renovation was won by R Cronjaeger.
The A grade BMR Autos longest drive was won by Rob Sandiford, B Grade longest drive went to Bob Dowse.
Ron James won the McIntyre Painting Cgrade longest drive.
The July monthly medal was sponsored by Peet & Co.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:SATURDAY LADIES

Stroke was the order of the day for the ladies who braved the cold windy conditions, with Loretta Stewart winning with nett 72.
Down the lines went to Maria Warburton and Elle Briggs both with nett 74 and the putting was won by Viki Maxwell with 33.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:PENNANT CHALLENGE

On Saturday the Pakenham Pennant teams played against each other with division four defeating Division three, 6 1/2 to 11/2.
Division four has now challenged division two to a match.

This week is Stableford with the following week, 15 July being Par.
The club will host a Mixed Canadian Day on 9 July.
Members are asked to organise a partner and come along for an 11am rolling start, all welcome.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:NEW FACES AT THE CLUB

PGA professional Shannon Sandiford is a new face at the club.
Shannon will be working in the golf shop several days a week and available for lessons.
Viki Maxwell has also joined the staff and will relieve in the golf shop and in the office.
The reason for the changes is that Alex Green has retired.
Alex will still be around the course having a round or two each week and the club thanked him for his time in the shop and wishes him well in his retirement.

Any member who introduces a new full adult member will receive 20 per cent off their membership renewal.
This is an excellent way to reduce fees.

There was a good turn up for the Stableford event with more than 50 players taking part.
The numbers were up due to the school holidays and many visitors took advantage of the weather and played a round at Pakenham.
Blake McGrath was the winner with 36 points from N. Cruden with 35 on a countback.
Peter Lawlor and Brain Bateup also came in with 35 points.
Down the lines went to Shane Golding 34, Stan Gilbert 34, Doug Booth 34, David McArthur 34, Chris Peeters 34 and Malcolm Clay, Malcolm Russell and Rodney Park all on 33.
Nearest the pin on the eighth was won by Tony Wynen and Bob Morrison was the winner of the 14th hole.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:WEDNESDAY RESULTS

The weather was excellent for golf and some good scores recorded.
Greg Roberts came in with 41 points to win the day from Ed Regis and Fred Uini both with 38.
Down the lines went to Stan Gilbert 37, Ross MacLean 37, Andrew Wraight 36, Steven Chapman 36, Al Campbell 36, Lou Russell 36, Tony Vallance 36 and Noel Bonne, Stokjo Kresojevic, Bob Dowse and Don Dalgleish all on 35.
Nearest the pin on the second and the eighth holes were won by Tasi Taito and the 14th went to Bert Burniston.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:SUNDAY BALL COMPETITION

Mark Klaver won the Stableford competition with 37 points.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:LADIES

On Thursday, 29 June, 44 Pakenham ladies played in the Doris Chambers Foursomes.
The day winners were Val Carroll and Wendy Carter with 40 points with the runnersup were Elly Briggs and Marjorie Dean with 39.
Downtheline balls went to Ann Bell/Lyn Murray 36, Shirley Roberts/Marg Andrews 33, Judy Horne/Marg Turner 30. Maria Warburton. Leanne Barker 29, Marg Jackson/Joyce Garton 38 and Irene Walker/Nola Kerslake 28 on a countback.
Winners of the Doris Chambers was Shirley Roberts and Marg Andrews who will progress to play in the Doris Chambers final at Spring Valley on 16 October.
