BOOK lovers rejoice!
Libraries and schools in the CaseyCardinia region are preparing to enjoy Children’s Book Week, celebrating all that is great about reading.
Special activities will be held at local libraries throughout the week under the theme of Book Now.
Authors will talk about the secrets behind their works and schools are also hosting plenty of activities focused on the wonderful world between the covers of books.
To help celebrate Book Week, the Gazette has asked local people to talk about children’s books they liked best.
Pakenham Library’s youth services officer Julie Adam nominated 45 and 47 Stella Street and Everything, by Elizabeth Honey.
“It’s one of my favourite children’s books because it has adventure and humour and can be read by boys and girls and it is a little bit different,” she said.
Popular author Judith Rossell will speak at the Pakenham Library on Thursday, 24 August.
