BEACONHILLS Country Golf Club’s Marilyn Ford and Ros Harding are aiming to tee up at the prestigious Royal Melbourne in August.
This follows their win in the Women’s Golf Victoria Centenary fourballbestball Stableford event at Beaconhills on Wednesday last week.
They will now play other clubs in the district final to be held at Lang Lang Golf Club on 14 August.
Each Victorian club is hosting a competition to celebrate 100 years of women’s golf in Victoria and the winners from each club will compete in district finals across the state.
The winners will then play in the state final at Royal Melbourne.
Nearestthepin winners were Paula Rae on the sixth and Lee James on the 15th, while the propin winners were Marilyn Ford in A grade and Suzanne Harvie in B grade.

SATURDAY RESULTS

This was a par event and Matthew Buff won A grade on the Old course with plusfive.
Greg Broom had the same score to win B grade and in C grade, Glen James was the winner with plusthree.
On the Lakes course, Shane Stuart returned the best score of plusthree to win the competition.
Hayden Nisbett won the junior ninehole event with nett 31.

SUNDAY RESULTS

Stableford was played by 57 players on the Old course.
Matt Cornthwaite was the winner, scoring 40 points and the runnerup was John Van Duyl on a countback with 39 points.

TUESDAY AND THURSDAY RESULTS

Matthew Taylor had a good week on the course.
Not only did he win the Tuesday Stableford competition with 38 points on a countback, but he also won the Thursday par competition with plusfive.
On Thursday, Glenn Vassett was the Bgrade winner with plussix and on Tuesday Eric Wilson was the runnerup with 38 points.
