The new speedway season got under way at Avalon Raceway last weekend with one of the sport’s rising stars, Pakenham’s Kenny Griffey, performing well in his the D&M Plaster Transport Maxim. Known across the district as ‘Boof’, Griffey finished second in the first heat and then qualified for the main race in the second heat. He followed that with a strong race in the ‘Amain’ class, which was his first outing in his new 200506 car.
