Bowlers cage Cougars

CLYDE’S Cgrade bats were unable to withstand Beaconsfield’s strong bowling attack and were dismissed for 137 from 65 overs on Saturday.
The Cougars got off to a patient start, but lost two early wickets.
Simon Rogers picked up the run rate with a quick 28 that included six fours and Chris Hymas got a solid start before falling for 17.
Clyde was 4/76 at tea and needed to pick up the pace, but no batsman was able to build on his starts.
Tom Sinnema batted patiently for 16, captain Ben Ferrari made 15, Nathan Lillee 14 and Mick Bain was unbeaten on 17.
Beaconsfield faced two overs to be 0/6 at stumps.

Also playing Beaconsfield, Clyde lost the toss and took to the field.
Ben Lackmann took an early wicket, but then things went downhill for the Cougars.
A secondwicket partnership of 108 continued the dominant batting by the Tigers making it a long day in the field for Clyde.
Lackmann took another two wickets to be the pick of the Clyde bowlers (3/62 from 23 overs) with Jeremy Anderson chipping in with 1/50 as Beaconsfield ended the day 4/318.

Playing Devon Meadows at Hillcrest, Clyde lost he toss and was sent into bat.
Kenny Marshall got Clyde off to a good start with 32, before the Derozario brothers Duane and Barry both reached retirement with 51 and 52 respectively.
Mick Bishop made a quick 29 not out and Gavin McGuiness 28 before Clyde was dismissed for 268 from 27 overs.
The Cougars then got off to a great start with Duane Derozario taking a double wicket maiden in the first over and finishing with 3/10.
Wickets fell at a steady rate and the Rebels were dismissed for just 59 in 16 overs.
Marshall took 2/8, B. Derozario 2/2 and Daniel Finn 2/13.

Clyde hosted Nar Nar GoonMaryknoll, batted first and was in trouble from the start.
The Cougar bats were unable to get going and were dismissed for just 35 with 19 extras.
Marygoon’s Chris Hughes returned the impressive figures of 5/5 from seven overs.
Nar Nar GoonMaryknoll then batted for 12 overs making 1/97 with Matt Venning taking the wicket for Clyde.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 15

Playing at home against Merinda Park White, the Cougars were sent into bat and compiled 6/155.
Ben Riley made a good 25 before his wicket fell. Joel Avard and Corey Brasher remained not out after the allotted 40 overs with Adrian Miller contributing six not out as well.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 13

Playing Officer the Cougars bowled and once again the sundries were kept busy with 45 extras bowled in a total of 81.
Chris Basset followed up from last week’s fine batting display with 3/4.
Other bowlers to shine were Josh Brown (2/9), Ash Jones (2/9) and Brayden Kennedy (1/2).
