A VISITING team organised and skipped by champion bowler Neville Brown won the City of Casey Invitation Fours at Berwick Bowling Club last Sunday, described as a great success.
The team members, from different clubs, were Neville Brown, skip, Brendan Hoey, Doug O’Connell and Russel Hunter.
More than 30 teams battled for the $2000 in prize money. Primelife Meadowvale Retirement Village sponsored the event.
A Berwick team skipped by Roy Down with Craig Capp, Roger Townley and Adam Gruszka was placed second.
Neville Brown, one of Australia’s top bowlers, thanked the sponsors and organisers for what he described as a great day.
Neville is the son of wellknown Pakenham bowler Frank Brown.
Berwick Bowls Club lady members provided lunch for the players.
