IT was a Christmas to remember at Berwick Bowling Club with the annual show featuring many ‘stars’ from around the club.
It has become an institution and features such show stoppers as the BBC band and the BBC choir.
It is produced by club member Margaret Glassenbery who even creates most of the costumes with assistance from other club members.
The colourful sets and props are produced by Leo Hansen a regular supporter of the event.
Some of the featured acts included ‘The Bold Gendarmes’, ‘The Pheasant Pluckers’, ‘Spring Flowers’ and a ballet recital, both a traditional and a not so traditional version featuring some of the male members of the club.
Following dinner the night was ended with Christmas carols.
Social bowls is continuing over the holiday break and ladies pennant will resume on Tuesday, 23 January and men’s pennant Saturday, 20 January.
February will see the 2007 Corporate Challenge featuring new bowlers from local businesses and organisations teamed together with a club bowler.
The event has proved popular and 2007 will see a record number of entries with the first of the four nights on 5 February.
