CARDINIA Agrade’s Brad Goodman ripped through Catani’s middle order on Sunday to take 4/34 in dazzling performance that helped the Bulls advance to the grand final.
Cardinia made the moderate total of 229 on the first day, with the majority of batsmen getting starts, but unable to make big scores.
John Nooy combined power and touch at the top of the order for 25, before a Paul Govaars thunderbolt rearranged his stumps.
Troy DaRose was again among the runs, scoring 43 as he and brother Ben (37) put on 55 for the fourth wicket.
Jamie Glen worked the ball around well, before a mixup saw him run out for 31.
Dwayne Doig scored a resolute 15 and Luke Turner called on his newly formed batting maturity to work the ball around for 28 notout.
With seven overs of play remaining on day one, Adam Hobson deceived Brad McDonald with a fearsome offcutter that took his offstump and Chris Remy wrapped Owen Fitzpatrick on the pads infront and he was adjudicated lbw.
When play ended Catani was 2/17.

Chris Remy struck again, but it was the decision to bring on Brad Goodman that changed the course of the match. He dismissed four batsmen – all bowled – for just 34 off 14 overs.
The Blues were reeling at 8/103 however a strong 85run partnership for the eighth wicket had tension building amongst the players.
Dwayne Doig and Luke Turner then combined to see Govaars caught behind and a spectacular caughtandbowled from Dwayne Doig ended the Catani innings on 206.
The Bulls will now play for the second AGrade premiership in the club’s history.
