QUILTS of all kinds are going on display at Lang Lang.
The town’s annual quilt exhibition and craft show will be held this Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
Dozens of crafty hands have contributed to the spectacular array of works and up to 100 quilts have gone on show at the community centre.
The exhibition is presented by the Anglican Parish of Westernport and coordinator Anne Kent said visitors to the fair had much to look forward to.
“The quality and diversity of the quilts is as good as you would see anywhere,” she said.
“You will see quilts which have been completely handstitched, right through to quilts made entirely by machine.”
The quilts are awarded prizes by the viewers’ choice method in three categories.
There will also be a block challenge, in which participants are given strict rules to make a block of fabric suitable to be included in a quilt.
“Apart from the quilts, the exhibition will also feature a craft fair, with varied stalls, including many devoted to patchwork,” Ms Kent said.
“Libby from Artsmart Craft Cottage will be demonstrating fabric painting and discussing how this can be used to embellish quilts, wall hangings and garments.
“There will be patchwork, gypsy, folk art, scrapbooking, pottery, craftwork, plants, cakes and vegies.”
A range of food will be on offer including sandwiches, a sausage sizzle and Devonshire teas.
